And the anxiety of Covid is back in effect. The new Delta wave is here in Florida almost more than anywhere and I’m sorry to say that the whirlwind of our little safe camper bubble is gone with the advent of breakthrough cases and the uncertainty of the transmittable viral load of the vaccinated. We have signed the girls up for homeschooling through a virtual program and are already looking for places to rent so we can have control over our safe little bubble.
On our first day at Keith’s parents, Oma jumped right in with a Quilting lesson! The girls were ready to go as well and they had a lesson for well over an hour. Plenty of time for me to get a workout in—thanks Oma!! After my workout, Keith and I (with the family’s help) unloaded most things from the camper—the pantry food, the toiletries (because we need them); our clothing; all the sheets and blankets that needed washing; most of the girl’s toys; and anything else that might need cleaning. Once everything was out we proceeded to clean the whole inside of the camper: wiping down the shower, toilet, sinks, seats, floors, pantry, microwave, stove, and floor (the refrigerator Keith did the day before while I was at my parents). The recommendation we got from Oma and Opa was that you want to store your camper so everything is ready and clean for next time you want to use it (seems smart to me!). We are also able to store our camper in a facility for free!
Today we have realized how uncertain our future is at this point. We seriously didn’t know if we wanted to rent a place in Florida near family, somewhere else, or continue on our journey. Are we going to continue staying in our little 19 ft trailer? Can we homeschool our kids there? I was hoping to have a few weeks off to decompress but with Covid on the rampage again and homeschool being something we need quite a bit of time for perhaps we should rent a place until I find a job. Today, everything feels very uncertain all of a sudden and not as much fun as deciding where you are going next on a camper trip.
We are so thankful and lucky to have so many people here in Florida willing to help us on our transition to whatever our something else might be.
Ahhh…now I understand your dilemma. I’m sure even though you had your share of challenges on the road, being in your own bubble and traveling must’ve been such an adventure that you’ll go through some letdown/depression.
Hang in there–everything happens in its own time. You definitely are fortunate to have a place to call home until you find your temporary one again.
The camper looks immaculate and ready to go for the next journey!
thanks for sharing everything even though I probably missed some crucial days.
Thank you <3
all of your other posts that I missed showed up! I will try to view these during the next few rainy days. 🙂 don’t want to miss anything.
