Yesterday, it threatened to rain all day, but we made it down to Lake Taylor Reservoir around 11 am but by 1 pm it was raining, so we came back. I took Anna and Elsa paddleboarding for a short circle until they would rather fish. So, we brought them back to the beach and Kim and I went out…it’s lovely and quiet on the lake. As it began to rain, Kim and I were rushing back to the beach when the flipper part of my oar fell into the water. We spent some time looking for it, but the water was too cold to get in. Bummer. The kids played in the sand and found rocks and when it began to rain, we came back to the camper and ate lunch and had hot cocoa.
The rain let up and the sun came out later in the afternoon and we went on a campground hike, exploring the rest of the campground before packing up a dinner to cook at Kim’s campsite. The kids ate together, played, we watched the now many hummingbirds, sat in front of the fire, roasted marshmallows, and got back down here before dark. The kids are beginning to show signs of late nights, so we reeled it in a bit.
