We used today to clean and organize. Keith cleaned out the Tahoe (there was a smell only his big nose could identify) …it could have been that the isopropyl alcohol had spilled in one of the drawers, it could have been the spilled yogurt in the girl’s hammock, it could have been the pound of popcorn lodged between my chair and the console or the handfuls of chips found in the hammock (we do clean this regularly…just hadn’t since our drive. Who knows?
We also did laundry (which was near a playground, but the girls were too hot to play on it—no shade). So, we hung around the camper and did camper things, reorganized, decided that all the water should be in the camper, and then questioned why we didn’t fill up our freshwater tank in the camper and used our 5-gallon jugs instead. We decided we will try the freshwater tank on our last four days when we only have electricity like this site.
After lunch, we went to the beach again. This time it was busier, but it seemed people would come and go so it never got too busy. The beach was just pretty small. We also found out that Paul and Diane used to vacation as kids at this park in the 50s. What a special coincidence to connect with this part of their history.
This water problem will come back, but I’m happy to have full hookups coming up for our next 4 days (2 stops). We will all take all the showers!! 🙂
Things we did:
- Started the 10-week workout plan over
- Laundry
- Cleaned out car
- The girls played “Eye Found It” (a Disney card game where you have to find tiny things on cards), Played school, and Rode bikes (down this big hill right next to our campsite
- Beached!
- Built sandcastle with a pretty great moat and bridge across the boat that was eroding but the waves from a boat totally demolished the whole drip castle before we were finished, it was pretty amazing—tornado style.
- Swam in the lake and sat by the lake
- Keith and I took showers with masks on…new techniques ;/
- Made a complicated pasta dish (mostly because we didn’t have water inside) with things we had on hand for dinner…and I didn’t really like it. ;/
- Built a fire
- Made smores
- The girls took a bird bath in the potable water because I didn’t want them to go inside the shower house but they were sticky
- Started packing up before bed
