This is when I usually am annoyed that we did two one-nighters in a row, but what can you do when you need to get out of Kansas. Again, we set an alarm to get going and moved out at a pretty decent pace. As we moved, the landscape began to get a little hilly, and then closer to our campground we began to see huge lakes with the remnants of trees before they flooded the region.
When we got here, we had to have a talk with the girls about chilling out because we can’t keep going at the pace we had been. So, we need to sit around and find other things to do to entertain ourselves. Then of course we went on an exploration walk to find the bathrooms, showers, laundry, and playground before getting some firewood. We made a fire and roasted dogs and made smores (we hadn’t done it in a while).
