We are headed out today with some quick jaunts across Tornado Alley (I know tornados can be anywhere, but Dorothy put a fear in me, and I don’t need to be in Kansas any more than we have to be!
Woke up to a beautiful breeze and my loving guy brought me coffee and Anna a breakfast sandwich from our new local fav, Ziggy’s. We sat outside until the girls were up just enjoying the water and occasional cool breeze. You can even see the mountains in the distance this morning. We were out of there by 10:22 am, but it was a long drive today…especially because there was very little to put your eyes on. On the second stretch of our trip, we were able to bust out the podcasts with Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert and Oprah’s wisdom to guide us.
I’m beginning to think one-night stands are nice at KOAs. You have a playground and pool sometimes and it gets the girl’s wiggles out from being in the car for a while before bed (in theory). WaKenney KOA was very nice and clean. The pool was crystal clear and the playground—although old-skewl—had this kick as a (probably dangerous) slide that really made it exciting. It also had a very nice dog walk. I’m not sure what was around this KOA, it was practically empty when we arrived and completely full by dark.
It’s great to see Ruby fishing! Uncle Ryan will be proud!
She keeps wanting is to get her hooks eek!
KOA’s are great for what they are. Have you built up enough points for a free night yet?
