I awoke to the sunrise over the lake and just laid in my bed (backward, because that is working) and listened to the geese and wind. Once we all had risen, we could still eat breakfast out of the fridge, but I realized I didn’t have ground beans to make coffee (dry camping = pre-grind or buy ground). So, we just went to get coffee on the way and headed to Rebecca’s.
I realize when we got to their house that I miss her beautiful long hugs! We had a wonderful day hanging out and catching up. The kids played in their amazing museum of a house where the boys had created interactive soap sculptures and can towers. <3 They took us to the edge of the mountains which was maybe a 10-minute walk outside their house through their adorable neighborhood.
Later we went to an archery class where the man teaching sculpts his own bows and arrows. We all took turns shooting into the straw mound and then he took us into his workshop to see how they are made—he sources woods from very particular trees all over the country—and he just offered to show us how to build a fire. What a magical man and moment in the day.
The kids went straight to the pool and when a storm was threatening to come in we transitioned to her fabulous feast with more hanging and chatting and sitting and being in the presence of each other. Thank you for a magical day Rebecca, Josh and family! <3 So special.
When we left, I feel like I didn’t even say a long goodbye, it was like we were going to see them tomorrow. Who knows…maybe we’ll be back? Colorado was pretty great.

Such a lovely day for you. But one question–doesn’t your house battery work at all? It should be able to give you lights and water pump.
This day looked magical on all counts, TaraCatnissEverdeenWelch. 🙂
