It felt so dry this morning and packing up felt routine. I worked through my workout with some crazy hair and a sturdy but uneven picnic table. I switched sides a bunch to make sure I was “even.” The girls played a little at the playground, but hitting and punching turned into time outs before heading out. Packing up was difficult with the interruptions of tears and feelings but we made it on the road around 10 am.
Things we did:
- Played on the playground
- Punched each other
- Got time outs
- Cried a bunch
- On the road about 10:30 am
- Saw rocks, cliffs, and mountains covered in haze/smoke in the distance
- Saw a oil refinery? It reminded me of the movie “Metropolis” from 1927
- Saw cows hugging twice (one cow putting their head on another’s back), it was really sweet and we hadn’t seen that yet
- Stopped for gas in Walden (these have become very quick, and we usually get gas and then pull around to a parking spot so we can pop in the trailer for a quick pee) Goat Dog didn’t like the grass here as it had suprising small spikey plants
- Drove through and by peaks and valleys, more snow fences, and beautiful scenery
- Saw oil being pulled from the Earth
- Drove around Kremmling, CO
- Bought some new windshield wipers and put them on
- Got ice cream
- Ordered Chinese (it was pretty good and better than anything we would have got in Columbus!)
- Did laundry (one load only)
- Watched the girls play at the new playground
- Took Goat Dog on walks in the gravel—because for a dog friendly RV park it wasn’t geared towards K9s (she wasn’t allowed on any of the grass)
- Took a walk around the campsite before showers and walked a little into the BLM land (Bureau of Land Management = public land)
As always: Make sure you wait for the photos and captions to load below! If the photos are too small and you want to zoom in don’t forget you can Cmd+/- on a Mac or Cntl+/- on a PC to zoom in/out your browser!
If you’ve made it this far without more major meltdowns and tears, I’d say it’s a win! Oh, and good for you making sure your sides are “even”, Tara! :)))
