Packed up quickly and got out of the park by 9 am. This is in part to me waking at 5:30 am with no alarm and just deciding to get up and do my workout. I also am getting the pre-night work-out prep down so I just get up, light the flame for the coffee, and change, and I’m ready to go. The girls have also started sleeping in till 7/8 am, so that is good if they are going to go to sleep so late (sometimes they just take an hour to wind down in bed).
Things we did:
- Packed up and left by 9 am (had a full hook up
- Stopped for gas in a small town (The trailer in front of us flicked off the trailer before him because they will dilly-dally at the pump) This gas station was the only one for a while so it filled up fast with people with trailers (because of our gas milage sux with a trailer (about 9 miles per gallon!)
- Stopped a little later on the shoulder to go to the bathroom so we wouldn’t block anyone in the gas station
- Realized our refrigerator opened mid-travel and it was 72 degrees inside – I think we saved the food but probably won’t last as long. We were lucky nothing flew out and I have no idea how it stayed in there—there were 2 glass jars right on the edge—Thank you, trailer gods.
- Drove through Custer National Forest and the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation
- Visited Little Big Horn National Memorial—it was about 20 miles outside our campground on the way. Keith and Goat Dog had to stay in the trailer and rest and the girls got another Junior Ranger Badge! We visited the memorial where the battle between Custer and the 7th Calvary was defeated by the Lakota/Sioux tribes that fought and the museum that taught us about the weapons used and the differences between cultures. On the hill there were 2 graves for the native Americans and about 20 for the cavalry. I haven’t finished reading about the archeologists who excavated and found the graves but most of the calvary’s graves just say: U.S. Soldier Fell Here June 26, 18__. The two Native American’s were named in full, however.
- Landed in our campsite and set up
- Swam in the pool briefly before a quick storm
- Keith and the girls went back to the pool while I made dinner (hot dogs and salad)
- The girls also got to eat some yogurt. TMI: I usually buy sugarless yogurt, but the Badlands only had Vanilla and it tasted like ice cream, so we had it like soft serve and put chocolate chips on top. It was pretty good.

now me just being silly/nosy. are the look alike outfits for Elsa and Anna to help you keep track when you are in busier places? just wondering. 🙂
Yes! I like them for that reason and they are still at an age where they like them too. Also, sometimes just easier to shop like that. ?
