We are learning as we go! Packing up in Badlands, we walked Goat Dog, did the potties, etc. Realized the bolts on our strut bars were loose and something that needs to be added to the departure list. We also added, “dump out Goat Dog’s water bowl!” That would have been a big mess to clean up after a driving earthquake.
We only had about a 2-hour drive. We stopped for gas and ate lunch at a picnic table outside an Arby’s on the way (they had RV parking) and then landed at Canyon Lake Park with 4 playgrounds and the girls made friends with two different sets of kids. They played for an hour or so because we were too early to check-in at our campground.
When arriving, we had a pull-through for 3 nights. The spots are very close together like a parking lot, but we could still squeeze in a picnic table. There is a burn ban out here so there are no campfires allowed. We also checked out the playground and went to the little pool—it was a little cloudy and very cold. I made an Instapot meal tonight with chicken and rice (turned out good but I need to look up a brown rice recipe instead of a white because the rice button is probably for white rice). After putting the girls to bed, we sat outside waiting for it to get dark and had to get blankets to keep warm. Picking out the stars in the sky one at a time as they showed up.
