Since Wisconsin Dells is a little amusement park, it took us a little while to get out of there because of the coveted visit to the fancy sandpit! However, we slid out right at 11 am and when we landed in Minnesota at this calm and quiet KOA with not much to do by 4 pm I was so glad for the peace and scarcity of things. For me, this was a wonderful contrast to the circus that was before. Keith and I sat and scheduled a few more stops on our trip, the girls rode bikes and we checked out the “facilities” – which included a “ses”pool. ;/ But, it was still my favorite RV park so far. And after a quick dinner, I took a shower while the girls played with some new campers next door giving me a chance to write this. Reprieve.
Things we did:
- Played with the EXCAVATOR in the sandpit!! (Anna: “Mom, if you go like this <punches right arm forcefully forward> the thing goes down and when you go like this <switches to the other arm with a squished face> the thing comes up!!!!!”)
- Keith tried out his portable tire pump at the site and was quite pleased BIG WIN!
- I made a hammock for the car so the girls’ toys don’t fall on Willow (poor Willow)
- Took some pix of the inside of our camper so you can see what we have to live in right now!
- Got gas (it’s a big deal when you are learning to drive your new travel trailer (Remember that Oasis (Which way do you go? If you go the way for Trucks then you can park…if you go the way for cars you can get gas…which to do you choose? What happens when there is no parking?! See the last post when we were parked on the on-ramp.)
- Used Hobby Lobby’s parking lot to get take out at Culvers (made-to-order fast food (the only way) and ‘frozen custards’ in La Cross! (Hello Emily’s new home! IT’S BEAUTIFUL!)
- Saw and crossed the Mississippi river – AWESOME
- Saw beautiful farmland and hills and rock formations
- Played on a playground, rode bikes, and chilled the #%@ out. THANK YOU!!
- Met new friends and played dodgeball til 9:00 pm CT
Make sure you read the caption at the bottom of the pix after waiting for them to load…
