After packing up our house into one 16 ft pod thanks to a past down tradition of the Welch’s proclivity for arranging and knot tying, we headed off in our Tahoe with our No Boundaries, Forest River travel trailer in tow.

We set our sights on Last Resort Campground—Welcome to Indiana—a couple hours outside South of Chicago. We have an ambitious bootcamp of 4 one-night stays in a row before we stay for several nights in Badlands National Park.
It feels similar to that moment where you pack up your whole house and realize you have to unpack it the same day. We got this though!
Things we did:
- Packed a 4 bedroom, 3 bath home into one 16 foot pod and a 24 foot travel trailer =0
- Laminated our check list
- Fed the fish in the pond outside our door
- Rode bikes with other RV kids (Jessie and Zoe were especially nice)!
- Went to the playground
- Arrived in a thunderstorm FUN!
- Tracked all the mud outside into our trailer
- Vacuumed
- Tracked all the mud outside in again.
- Saw a bunch of geese
- Stepped in goose poop
- Played in the mud
- Tracked more dirt into the trailer
- Rolled out the campsite at 9am
- Got on the road at 10:45am
It was a little tricky for our long move day, but sleep came quickly.
Tara,
John talked to your mom and she sent us to your site. I’ll be following your adventures. Just read day one and I already am giving you a million pats on the back (even more!) for packing up a house and then setting out….and the mud, geese poop, etc….UGH! You are one brave lady!
xoxo

Yay! Thank you! It feels pretty good still…I’m surprised cuz it’s already been a week. We’ll see!!
I’m a little late to this party, but awe, Happy Trails. Hayhurst St misses your family? Your blog is beautiful and I can’t wait to catch up on your travels!
Miss you all too!! <3
