Kind of a strange beginning as our campsites was occupied by someone who got stuck in the rain. But they were gracious and moving as we arrived. Keith and I perfected our back in team work and this site didn’t have water, so we hooked up to the electric. Not too many snafoos that I remember actually. I think I lost an old flipflop there. Leona would not poop in the hole potties (I don’t blame her). We had a great time with friends and toured the park as great big family.
Fun things we did:
- Backed into our very first/very tight site!
- Roasted S’mores and hot dogs and sausages
- Took a boat ride and swam in Lake Hope!
- Played on the beach at Lake Hope
- Hiked the Archery Hike (the maintenance guy was confused why we thought this was interesting)
- Stopped by an old train tunnel and furnace
- Hiked the Hope Furnace Trail past a very old graveyard.
- Sat by the fire with friends while the girls played
- Played on the playground and road bikes
